We are now into the second year of the Victorian Women Dentists' Association and I must say that the past year has been extremely successful for all concerned. The committee has found it rewarding and challenging to meet its obligations and to fulfil the aims of the Association.

There have been many discussions and experiments with the programme in trying to decide what would be of interest to the members. Hopefully as time goes by there will be a clearer indication by the members to guide us in a more deliberate way so the programme fulfils their needs.

The development of the website has been an enormous task for the committee and my greatest thanks and appreciation go to them. I would like to ask you all to review the website and provide us with information and ideas on further development.

The coming year will see the formulation of a strategic plan which will assist in the development of a focus for the Association. It will allow us to express our voice in many arenas. The introduction of a mentoring programme will assist in fulfilling some of our goals while discussions are taking place with the other states about the possibility of a regular national conference. 

You will see that October is the time for our annual elections for the committee and I would like to invite each and every one of you to consider if you would be interested in being involved. If you are please ring any member of the committee and express your interest.

I look forward to the next year and hope that you find the programme of interest and support to your future personal and professional direction.
